1. Introduction

Welcome to ScanUp – Online Business Card Scanner + Smart CRM, developed by Es_SaYuN.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use ScanUp.
By using the app, you agree to this policy.
ScanUp is offline-first; however, certain features (OCR, backup, export, and subscription handling) use internet connectivity.


2. About the App

ScanUp helps users scan business cards, store contacts, add tags and notes, set reminders, and manage follow-ups.
The app works offline for core features and offers optional cloud backup and premium features for advanced use.


3. Demo Subscription Plans (Current Status) — IMPORTANT

⚠️ Demo Mode Active
At present, the BASIC / STANDARD / PREMIUM plans inside the app are demo subscription plans only and are not connected to any payment processor.
No payment information is collected or processed while the plans are in demo mode.
When ScanUp is published live on Google Play, the real payment system will be activated and all paid plans and subscriptions will be processed securely via Google Play Billing (or another declared payment provider).
Before any payment goes live, this Privacy Policy and in-app notices will be updated.
Until then, demo plans are for preview only and will not trigger charges.


4. Active Subscription Plans (When Payments Are Enabled) — Overview

(For transparency — payments are not active until app is live and billing is enabled.)

BASIC PLAN — Free
• Scan up to 25 cards/month
• 50 contacts
• Ads enabled

STANDARD PLAN — ₹99/month
• Scan up to 100 cards/month
• 500 contacts
• Export, backup, voice notes
• Ads removed

PREMIUM PLAN — ₹1499/year
• Scan up to 500 cards/month
• Unlimited contacts
• Export, backup, voice notes
• Ads removed

Payments & Refunds:
All payments will be handled via Google Play Billing once enabled.
We do not collect or store card details.
Refunds and cancellations follow Google Play’s policy.
Subscriptions can be canceled via Google Play → Subscriptions.

Data collected for billing:
We may store metadata (plan type, purchase date, subscription status, purchase token) for verification.
No payment credentials are stored on our servers.


5. Information We Collect

a. Local (Offline) Data:
Contacts, tags, notes, and reminders are stored locally on your device. We do not upload or share this data.

b. OCR Processing (Google Cloud Vision API):
Card images are transmitted securely to Google Cloud Vision API for text extraction. Images are used only for OCR and not stored.

c. Optional Cloud Backup (Firebase):
If you enable cloud backup, your data is securely stored on Google Firebase. Backup is optional and encrypted.

d. Non-Personal Data (Analytics & Crash Logs):
Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports may be collected to improve app performance.


6. Permissions Used

• Camera – Scan business cards (temporary image)
• Storage – Save scanned images, exports (local)
• Internet – OCR processing, backup, updates, billing verification (encrypted)
• Notifications – Reminder alerts (local only)
• Contacts (optional) – Import/export contacts (local only)


7. Data Security

We protect your data using:
• Local database encryption
• HTTPS/TLS encryption for all communications
• Google Firebase secure infrastructure for cloud backups
We do not store passwords or payment card details on our servers.


8. Third-Party Services

ScanUp uses the following services:
• Google Cloud Vision API — OCR/text extraction
• Google Firebase — Backup, authentication, cloud storage
• Google Play Billing / Play Services — Payments, updates, analytics

9. GDPR — European Users

If you are in the EEA, you have the right to:
• Access your data
• Request correction or deletion
• Withdraw consent
• Request data portability

Uninstalling the app removes local data. For cloud backups, contact us to delete.


10. CCPA / CPRA — California Residents

You have rights to:
• Request disclosure of information collected
• Request deletion of personal data
• Opt out of sale of data (we do not sell data)

11. CalOPPA Compliance

We comply with CalOPPA by:
• Publishing this Privacy Policy publicly
• Updating users of changes
• Respecting “Do Not Track” signals


12. Children’s Privacy

ScanUp is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If discovered, such data will be deleted immediately.


13. Data Retention

• Local data – kept on your device until you delete it
• Cloud backups – retained until deleted by you or upon request
• OCR images – processed temporarily
• Subscription metadata – retained for verification and support

Include your email or identifier used for backup.


15. Policy Changes & Notifications

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last Updated” date and may be notified in-app.
